How does the pack builder work?
Everything happens on your device. When you press Generate, your browser creates each Shikaku grid from the pack seed, solves it to make the answer key, and lays the pages out as a PDF. Nothing is uploaded and there’s no account. Four 5×5, 6×6 or 7×7 grids share a sheet, two 8×8, 9×9 or 10×10 grids share a sheet, and a 12×12 grid gets its own page unless you tick Large print for one big grid per page. 5×5 through 10×10 come in easy, medium and hard, and 12×12 in easy and medium. Each puzzle prints with its number and seed, so answers line up even when you keep them in a separate PDF. The same seed and settings always give the same puzzles. Use Copy share link to send a class or a friend the exact same pack, or press shuffle for a fresh set.

About these Shikaku packs
Print a Shikaku pack and solve it with a pencil. Shikaku asks you to split the grid into rectangles so that each number equals the area of its rectangle and every cell belongs to exactly one rectangle. Each file is a black and white booklet: the puzzles come first with every number on a light cell grid, and the answer key starts on its own page with thick borders where neighbouring areas meet. Packs are split by size and difficulty: 5×5 through 10×10 at easy, medium and hard, and 12×12 at easy and medium for print only. A 5×5, 6×6 or 7×7 sheet holds four puzzles, an 8×8, 9×9 or 10×10 sheet holds two, and a 12×12 sheet holds one. Seeds are fixed, so the same download always has the same grids. Each single pack has eight puzzles, and the starter pack has one puzzle from each of the twenty packs. To try one grid on screen first, open Shikaku and use Print or Download PDF there.
