How does the pack builder work?

Everything happens on your device. When you press Generate, your browser creates each Hitori grid from the pack seed, solves it to make the answer key, and lays the pages out as a PDF. Nothing is uploaded and there’s no account. Four 5×5, 6×6 or 7×7 grids share a sheet, and two 8×8 or 9×9 grids share a sheet. Tick Large print if you want one big grid per page. 5×5 through 7×7 come in easy, medium and hard, 8×8 in easy and medium, and 9×9 in easy. Each puzzle prints with its number and seed, so answers line up even when you keep them in a separate PDF. The same seed and settings always give the same puzzles. Use Copy share link to send a class or a friend the exact same pack, or press shuffle for a fresh set.

About these Hitori packs

Print a Hitori pack and solve it with a pencil. Hitori asks you to shade duplicate digits so that no digit repeats in any row or column among the cells you leave white. Shaded cells never share an edge across or down, and the white cells form one connected group. Each file is a black and white booklet: the puzzles come first with every digit on a light cell grid, and the answer key starts on its own page with shaded cells filled solid black and the digits kept on that fill. Packs are split by size and difficulty: 5×5, 6×6 and 7×7 at easy, medium and hard, 8×8 at easy and medium, and 9×9 at easy. A 5×5, 6×6 or 7×7 sheet holds four puzzles, and an 8×8 or 9×9 sheet holds two. Seeds are fixed, so the same download always has the same grids. Each single pack has eight puzzles, and the starter pack has one puzzle from each of the twelve packs. To try one grid on screen first, open Hitori and use Print or Download PDF there.
